Origins and foundation

Inter Milan was founded on March 9, 1908 by a group of dissident players from the Milan Cricket and Football Club. The club was formed as a response to Milan's exclusionary policy towards foreign players. At the time, Milan was limiting the participation of foreign players in the team, which led to discontent among some players who sought the inclusion of talents of different nationalities.

The name "Internazionale" was chosen to symbolize the club's openness to players of different origins and nationalities. Since its foundation, Inter Milan became a multicultural team and welcomed players from different countries, which set it apart from other Italian clubs at the time.

During its early years, Inter Milan had to struggle to establish itself on the Italian football scene. It was not until the 1910-1911 season that the club achieved its first major success by winning the Italian Football Championship, known as the Prima Categoria. This early triumph laid the foundation for the club's later success.

In the decades that followed, Inter Milan continued to grow and develop as one of the biggest clubs in Italy. He won several league titles and national cups, establishing himself as a formidable competitor in Italian football. However, the club also faced difficult moments, such as the suspension of sports activities during World War II.

Throughout its history, Inter Milan has had various owners and presidents who have left their mark on the club. One of the most prominent presidents was Angelo Moratti, who took over in the 1950s and was instrumental in the team's success at the time.

Under Moratti's management, Inter Milan experienced a golden age in the 1960s, known as "La Grande Inter". During this period, the club won numerous league and cup titles, as well as two consecutive European Cups in 1964 and 1965. Inter Milan became the first Italian team to win the UEFA Champions League.
